Terms and Conditions
 
 

  1. Information on prizes and how to enter form part of these conditions of entry. Entry into the competition is deemed acceptance of the terms and conditions.

  2. Entry is open to all residents of NSW.

  3. The promoter, sponsors, and their respective officers, employees and their immediate families are ineligible to enter.

  4. Entries to the competition must be received between Tuesday, 25th of March, 2008 and Wednesday, 30th April, 2008.

  5. To enter, entrants must log on to www.rayv.com.au. They will be invited to register as a member of RAYV (free of charge) and write a review on any business. An entrant may add a relevant business to a business category if it is not already in the RAYV database and can do so at the time of writing a review. An entrant may write as many reviews as they wish as long as no review is duplicated.

  6. There will be one prize winner for each of the ten business categories. The person who writes the winning review in each category, as determined by the judging panel, will receive $500 in cash, gift certificates or equivalent product to the value of $500.

  7. The person who writes the overall best review will be given an additional $5000 in cash.

  8. The winning category reviews will be decided by a judging panel with representatives from the category sponsors, promoter and primary sponsor.

  9. The overall best review is decided by representatives from the promoter and primary sponsor, and 1 guest judge to be determined at the promoter’s discretion.

  10. Judging criteria for all entries will include originality, insightfulness, honesty, quality, community votes (high fives) and a series of other elements, with the winning entries to be based on the majority vote of the judges. In the event of an equal number of votes being received, the two primary sponsors shall have the casting vote.

  11. Prizes cannot be exchanged. The judges’ decision is final & no correspondence will be entered into.

  12. The 10 category winners will be contacted to advise them of they prize they've won. They will be required to attend an event to collect their prize, and may bring up to 5 guests to the event. At the same event, one of the 10 successful entrants will also be presented with the $5000 prize for the best overall review. The winner of the $5000 prize will be announced at the event. The winner must also be present at this event to claim his/her prize.

  13. Each of the 10 category winners will be notified via email by 12:00pm AEST, Tuesday, 6 May 2008 and the winner must acknowledge receipt of the notification by 11:59pm AEST, Wednesday, 7 May 2008. If contact cannot be made with the winner, or no confirmation of notification is received by the due date, the runner(s) up will be deemed to have won, and contacted. While the promoter will use its’ best endeavours to establish contact, no responsibility will be taken for the forfeiture of a prize due to the inability of the promoter to establish contact with an entrant.

  14. The winner agrees to participate in any news media activities surrounding the promotion. The winners will be presented with their prizes at the event which will be held in Sydney in the week commencing Monday, 12 May 2008. Details of the specific venue and date will be provided on the RAYV website. Winning entrants will also be personally notified of the venue details.

  15. The Promoter takes no responsibility for inaccurate contact information provided on promotion entry. It is the responsibility of the entrant to provide a correct and accurate email address.

  16. The promoter will not be liable for any loss, damage or personal injury whatsoever (including but not limited to direct, indirect and consequential loss) suffered or sustained in connection with this promotion. The Promoter makes no representations or warranties as to the quality / suitability / merchantability of any of the winning prizes.

  17. All reviews become the property of RAYV Pty Ltd and will remain on the RAYV website. 18. The promoter is RAYV Pty Ltd (A.C.N 126 856 317) and the primary sponsor is Time Out Sydney. The 10 category sponsors are nudie, Lonely Planet, Greater Union, bopo, Strike Bowling Bar (sponsoring two categories), 360 BAR AND DINING, Wot About Me, Service Seeking, and Talent2.
